El Callejon Art introduces Talavera from La Corona workshop. From San Pablo del Monte, in the state of Tlaxcala, the art of working Talavera was unknown. It was not until 1981 that the great Gaspariano Cayetano Corona started a small workshop, he had the knowledge and dedication needed to create pieces as beautiful and authentic as they are. Cooked in the oldest and most traditional workshops of this ceramic Talavera. Over time the workshop became Talavera factory La Corona, which is widely recognized for the quality of its dishes, ceramic jars, pots, vases and platters, among other pieces. All of the Talavera pottery offered is made by hand in Tlaxcala, Mexico, and is 100% lead-free as well as microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe. The details are outstanding, and due to the kiln’s high firing temperature all of our Talavera dish-ware is also crack and chip resistant.
